Production Engineering Developer
Are you experienced in production development? Do you want to lead projects and help future-proof our ways of working in a global environment? Then you might be our new Production Developer!
Are you experienced in production development and curious about what’s next? Do you want to lead your own projects and help future-proof our ways of working in a global environment? Then you might be our new Production Developer!
At Westermo, we’re a global company with our heart still rooted in Västermo, Stora Sundby—a small village outside Eskilstuna where our main factory remains, 50 years after it all began. While we’ve grown and expanded internationally, our values and commitment to quality remain the same.
We’re now looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Production Developer to join our Operational Project and Development team within the Production Engineering Department. In this team, we don’t just support the organization—we inspire and guide it. We lead change, drive innovation, and shape the future of our operations through strategic development projects, continuous improvements, and close collaboration.
Are you our next Production Developer?
Your role is to develop and optimize production processes—both in our main factory and across our global operations. But it’s much more than that. You’ll be a key player in shaping our operational future. You’ll work with today’s challenges while keeping a clear eye on tomorrow. You’ll analyze current processes and identify opportunities for safer, smarter, and more sustainable ways of working. You’ll develop and implement new methods, tools, and technologies that enhance safety, quality and efficiency.
Much of your work will be project-based, giving you the opportunity to lead initiatives that make a real impact. You’ll manage production development projects and contribute to product development efforts, collaborating across departments and borders.
You’ll be part of a skilled and forward-thinking team in Sweden, working closely with production developers and engineers. You’ll also engage with global colleagues, including our newly established final assembly plant in India—bringing a truly international dimension to your role. This position includes several leadership aspects by design, and we see a great opportunity for you to grow into a formal leadership role as a team leader. However, that’s not the primary focus of the role from the start.
Examples of your responsibilities:
- Analyze and suggest improvements to the production flow in the factory
- Evaluate and propose investments in machines and tools
- Train and support internal staff
- Lead and participate in digitalization projects
- Lead industrialization of new products
- Documentation and standardization
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who wants to make a difference. You’re driven by improvement, energized by challenges, and motivated by working and succeeding together. You’re curious, collaborative, and eager to share your knowledge while learning from others.
Requirements:
- Academic background in a production-related field
- Knowledge and experience in Lean, and adjacent tools and methods
- Hands-on experience from production environments
- Strong project management skills
- Comfortable working daily in ERP systems (IFS is a plus, but not a must)
- Fluent in Swedish and English
Meritorious:
- Experience in electronics production
In return, we offer: You will be working at the forefront of technology in a friendly, open culture where we you get the opportunity to learn from skilled colleagues every day. A mature and caring leadership in a flat organization. Through our collective bargain agreement you will be covered in terms of insurance, pension and other benefits. We like to have fun together and we regularly enjoy sports and other social activities as a team. We believe that magic happens when people meet. We are a learning organization and we truly love to try new things, think outside the box and be innovative together!
