Are you our new Accounting Specialist?
As an Accounting Specialist, you’ll play a key role in our finance operations. Your responsibilities will include local bookkeeping, tax reporting, customer and supplier payments, and account reconciliations. You’ll be part of our global Finance team, collaborating with colleagues across borders and contributing to a strong financial foundation.
You’ll report to the Finance Manager and work closely with a team of seven dedicated professionals, including our CFO. Our team is based in Västerås and at our factory in Stora Sundby. We pride ourselves on being highly competent, collaborative, and flexible—always striving to improve and support each other.
What you’ll be working with and be responsible for:
As part of the Westermo team you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, and drive improvements, change and automation. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical person with a passion for numbers, to join a future oriented and sustainable growing business.
The tasks include more in detail:
- Monthly financial closing activities ensuring accurate financial results and requirements are complete within corporate timelines
- Maintain the closing of financial systems including
- Maintaining General Ledger accounts
- Preparing applicable journal entries
- Account reconciliations
- Recording and reconciling Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Registering supplier and customer payments in the bank and ERP system
- Registering investments and depreciations
- Handling monthly GST (moms) calculation, reconciliation, and reporting
- Collaborating with the global Westermo Finance team on assigned tasks
- Supporting a robust internal control environment to protect Westermo Group assets and ensure compliance with Group Financial policies and local statutory accounting practices
- Conducting monthly internal control reporting, testing, and documentation.
- Support audits and interact with external auditors
- Continuous improve financial processes and systems

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Working experience in related accounting
- Strong proficiency with office productivity applications (Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Experience working in an ERP System.
- Excellent communication skills, and can work in both Swedish and English
Meritorious
- Experience with IFS system (our ERP)
Basic information:
- Location: Stora Sundby (outside Eskilstuna) or Kopparlunden, Västerås. Flexibility to travel between sites is required.
