An experienced Area Sales Manager, focusing on the Northern part of the United Kingdom, is needed to join the Sales team to further expand our established presence into this market. One such challenge is the new communication technologies which needs to support legacy systems; we need someone who is willing to understand these challenges and build on our unparalleled reputation to deliver.
Duties & Responsibilities
To fully understand the typical challenges, needs and requirements of an OT application across sectors including energy, water, marine and offshore. However, being able to understand and work with IT departments is also a requirement as IT becomes more engaged with projects.
To build on present business and relationships to achieve sales and revenue targets. We encourage flexible working but need our sales team to engage with customers who now welcome face to face meetings.
To expand revenue from our existing customers. To hunt out new opportunities, increasing our market share, using current and existing product, plus building solutions.
To understand the clear differences between product and solution selling by listening the customer, understanding their challenges, and being able to quickly explain their needs internally. We can then build a solution that can be propositioned to the customer.
To identify, develop and convert new opportunities into sales orders, while maintaining a thorough watching brief and follow up procedure for potential opportunities.
To feel comfortable working our your own and collaboratively working in a team environment. Partnerships are key, so understand our partners is essential, some of whom will form part of our eco-system. We need someone who can work with diverse business models and see this as a benefit to Westermo.
Actively seek feedback on customer requirements and product development, information should be conveyed to relevant manager for action.
Be responsible for Westermo’s membership of any appropriate associations within our key markets and for this to be used effectively.
Build and maintain clear customer records with the company CRM system, attend regular sales meetings and provide clear and concise activity reports and forecasts as and when required.
Develop knowledge of Westermo product portfolios, developing contacts within the sales and product offices of these Westermo group companies.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
A degree of other higher qualification in Electrical, Electronic engineering or a similar discipline.
Good understanding of emerging communications technologies such as Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, public and private networks. Ability to work with all stakeholders to build eco-systems to deliver Customer solutions.
Primarily a hunter looking for new Customers but with the ability to work with the existing customer base.
Clear understanding of product vs solutions selling with the ability to offer whatever the customer needs regardless of the complexity of the customers’ needs.
Ability to look beyond the product plus understanding how complex solutions will be deployed and maintained with zero-touch provisioning and monitored using dedicated software.
Understand the differences between OT and IT and how Westermo can help organisations who are looking to converge OT & IT.
Experience of working in a team environment or self-motivated when working from home.
Expert understanding of the UK power, transmission, distribution, offshore wind and energy markets.
Knowledge of Cyber security including IEC 62443
