Our hardware design team consists of more than 10 people and together we design and quality assure all the hardware for all Westermo products. And we are now looking to strengthen the team!

Are you our new Mechanical Design Engineer?

To take the next step on a successful journey we are now recruiting Mechanical Design Engineers with a strong drive to develop and design. We are looking for engineers who like to work in the whole scale from specification to product release and serial deliveries, as well as maintenance in different projects.

In this role you work both in different maintenance- and new development projects, normally from specification to product release and serial deliveries. You have a key position within the projects, designing and verifying the mechanics. You work closely with other parts of the organization such as project managers, electronic designers, type- and production test units as well as production technicians from our own production.

Part of the role also include to be in close contact with various suppliers of mechanical manufacturing, supervise and develop in new design techniques etc.

So, who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, can share information and cooperate in a professional way- team spirit is very important for us. We also appreciate a structured and organized new colleague who is used to handling many tasks and can prioritize and switch between tasks if necessary. You have a background in mechanics and enjoy the variety of working on new products, as well as existing.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Knowledge in Mechanical Design and Tolerances.
• Knowledge about material fatigue, heat dissipation, material selections and surface treatments.
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.

Meritorious

• Experience in design for electronics, IP-related products and/or 3D-printing
• Comfortable with hands-on prototyping, milling, drilling, etc.
• Experience in thermal interface material and thermal simulation
• Experience in design for harsh environment
• Knowledge in Solidworks & Solidworks PDM
• Swedish, both verbal and written.
