We are now searching for a business minded and experienced Quality Manager to join our team in Stora Sundby. The purpose of our Quality function is to ensure a culture and practice of excellence throughout the entire value chain of Westermo, in order to increase customer satisfaction. Since our most important success factor is to deliver high tech, robust and reliable products, this is a key role to the company.

In this role, you will be responsible for the overall quality of our products, processes and services. In practice, this means solving quality problems generated from design of the product, the manufacturing process and from our suppliers. In your team you will have two quality project managers and a small team of technical troubleshooters reporting to you. Since we have a rather small quality team you will also be involved in daily operations and be very hands-on in everyday tasks. The role reports to the Vice President of Operations and you will be part of the Operations management team.

Are you our new Quality Manager?

As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining our company quality standards and drive our quality improvement efforts as well as be the driver of our Sustainability journey. By collaborating closely together with the manufacturing team, the supply chain team and R&D team you will ensure robust design, processes, supplier standards and overall manufacturing control are in place so that products leaving our factory meet our high quality standards. When finding deviations, you will drive the root cause analysis as well as the corrective actions, and communicate these with the organization.

Our Quality function is continuously working on improving our already good quality culture in the company. This is done through communication and training in quality awareness and quality standard requirements involving all functions.

Another very important area for our Quality Manager is to collaborate closely with our customers and suppliers to react and take actions on quality issues. You will also drive and participate in audits with both customers and suppliers, as well as internal audits.

Westermo holds both ISO9001 and ISO14001 certificates and you will be the owner of the basic platform; our quality management system. Linked to this you will also perform management system audits to assure that we are following our processes and procedures, and drive and facilitate the development of our sustainability profile.

So, who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who would thrive in our company culture where quality, ownership and teamwork is at the center of everything we do, and who meets most of the following requirements:

• A degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred)
• Experience in Quality Management in the manufacturing industry
• Proven leadership skills, since this is a key area for us
• Experience in manufacturing, testing, and failure analysis
• Experience of quality management systems, problem solving methods, and statistical analysis tools
• Good communication skills; communicating professionally in business Swedish and business English, write reports, read standards, hold presentations for external visitors, write business correspondence, and write/draw process maps
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills together with a business mindset and a focus on results
